The Islam content varies only slightly from paper to paper, whether you are doing Edexcel, Ucles, SEG or other Religious Studies GCSE exams. Below you can find the SEG syllabus specification B, Module 2 for 2004. We can use SEG's list of themes to break each down into the topics you need to know if you are following a one religion-Islam route, or combine this with, say, Christianity to follow a two route path (or even three!). This site only looks at Islamic beliefs and practices. If you are following Edexcel or Cambridge, the following topics are usually held in common. If you are following SEG, here is your syllabus. On a personal note, having taught the SEG short course for some years, I have found that students find a lot more to write about if they compare Islamic and Christian teachings in their answers, taking a two path route. They not only find more material but have more opportunity to exercise their critical thinking in the crucial evaluation parts of their answers.
